Have you ever thought about learning Spanish?

Tell us what you need and we will do everything possible to make the course suitable for your physical and cognitive needs
Why not immerse yourself in the beautiful language of Spain while exploring the rich biodiversity of our mountains and venturing on ecological trails?
With ‘Learning Spanish in Nature,’ you can experience the best of both worlds. We offer you the opportunity to stay at our ecological nature park, where you’ll learn how to connect with our environment and wildlife, engage in activities such as bird watching and botanical tours.
During your stay, you’ll reside in rural areas alongside your teacher, ensuring a complete immersion into the Spanish language and culture – which we believe is the most effective way to learn. In addition to daily lessons, you’ll partake in various nature-related activities, including learning about the Environmental Project, aimed at rediscovering the wisdom of our ancestors.
We believe that learning a new language should encompass many aspects of daily life. Therefore, we provide opportunities for you to interact with the people and customs of Spain, particularly in our region of Asturias.
But we don’t want your experience in Spain to be all about studying. We can also arrange extra activities for you, such as wildlife and botanical watching, canyoning, speleology, biking, rock climbing, cultural activities, and visits to local craftsmen.
Join us for an unforgettable journey of language learning and ecological exploration in the heart of Spain’s natural beauty!
Location
We are located in Proaza, in the province of Asturias, Spain. Situated in a privileged environment, we are surrounded by the Las Ubiñas-La Mesa Natural Park and not far from the Somiedo Natural Park (Biosphere Reserve). Our village is just 28 km from Oviedo, the capital of the province.
Senda del Oso
One of the main attractions of Proaza is the famous Senda del Oso. This hiking and cycling route follows the old path of a mining railway and offers impressive views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
Our region is characterized by an astounding variety of flora and fauna. From the lush riverside vegetation to the imposing mountain landscapes, every corner of this environment is a natural treasure. Known as the cradle of the Cantabrian brown bear, this area is also home to other emblematic species such as the wolf, deer, badger, marten, genet, wild boar, roe deer, chamois, and the majestic golden eagle.
Who we are
My name is Azucena Roa, an English teacher with a degree in English Philology, and a Spanish as a Second Language teacher, certified in ELE. I hold the CAP (Pedagogical Adaptation Course) and have experience teaching English and Spanish in both public and private institutions. In another field, I am an environmental educator and a natural heritage interpreter guide.

My interest in learning about new cultures and languages led me to various life experiences in different countries (Canada, Ethiopia, Australia, India, New Zealand, Nepal…) and in different circumstances, sometimes participating more directly by working in NGOs and other times as a volunteer in projects related to agriculture or ecology. All of these experiences provided rich and valuable learning that helps me face this new life challenge today.
Due to my educational background, I wanted to invest in a project that combines language education and a connection to nature to convey and share the importance of the land, ecological values, and respect for the environment, which is so important and necessary today for the future of our planet and future generations.
What is particular about this place is the lack of international tourism influence, which preserves the authentic character of a rural area and an Asturian village. We offer a 100% Spanish living experience, not only through classes but also through all activities related to daily life: eating, walking, reading, playing, watching movies, talking with people, activities in the garden, excursions… You will live unforgettable days in Spanish while increasing and consolidating your vocabulary, expression and comprehension skills, and grammar. Our dedication is personalized and direct. We aim to teach our native language in a participative and enjoyable way, along with everything we know about our culture, customs, and in this case, our agricultural and environmental surroundings.
